Erica's Spanish Immersion Story
Erica Fischer started teaching her family Spanish so they could better interact with their immigrant neighbors. She searched long and hard, but it was impossible to find an age-appropriate, comprehensive, Spanish curriculum for young children.
Undaunted, she embarked on the journey of developing the quality resources and lessons that became Calico Spanish. Along the way, she recruited talented teachers, artists, musicians, and editors; she also learned more than she imagined possible.
The Fischer family has been rewarded with friends from all over the Spanish-speaking world including Mexico, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Peru, Argentina, and Spain. They are living proof that languages open doors to cultures, friendships, and lots of laughter.
